Our first AI & Robotics Business Transformation Directors’ Forum of 2018 was on the 22 March 2018. It was aimed at business leaders, entrepreneurs and academics  focused on sharing how they are using AI and robotics to re-shape their organisations for the 21st century creating new commercial models, boosting competitiveness and optimising performance.

I was lucky enough to chair a panel of extraordinary women leading innovative projects using AI. The session was called Leading AI driven transformation: Insights from the front line of change. My panellists were:

Kriti Sharma VP of Bots and AI, Sage Group

Kriti is an Artificial Intelligence tech entrepreneur, currently building AI that solves real problems facing the world today, from access to emergency services in developing countries to an AI powered financial assistant that helps entrepreneurs around the world. Kriti cares deeply about the ethics of AI and writes about AI and bot design principles.

Miranda Sharp, Director of Innovation, Ordnance Survey

Three years ago Miranda Sharp created a Smart Cities to collaborate with a spectrum across academia, large and small business, public and private sector using place-based insights to seize the golden opportunities now emerging from a ‘Smarter’ world.

Alice Zimmermann, Global Product Partnerships, Google

Alice leads the open developer platform for the Google Assistant in the UK and is working with local brands to optimize for the shift to conversational computing. Alice has 10 years of mobile product go-to-market experience and has worked previously in Tel Aviv, Mexico City & Silicon Valley.

I invited the audience to take the opportunity to ask the panel questions that could assist them with their AI strategy and what to do to make a transformation work.

Examples of the questions the panel was asked included:

  • What do members of a Board need to know when making decisions on implementing AI in their organisation?
  • How can we help our employees be motivated and ready to work with AI?
  • What has surprised you when delivering/experiencing AI driven change on transformative AI projects?
